THE WORLD

The daughter of Argentina, whose name, just like my name was Carina, and who was also a traveller, said:

"I want to tell you a story."

Then she opened a book of an Uruguayan author and read:

One man in the village of Negua on the coast of Colombia could ascend to the sky.

Upon return, he said that he had understood, from up there, human life. And said that we were a sea of lights.

“This is the world”, he said, “a lot of people, a sea of lights. Every person shines with his own light in midst of everyone and there exist none that were equal. There are lights that are big and lights that are small, and lights of all colours. There are people of serene light that not even a wind can touch, and there are people of mad fire that fill the air with sparks. Some lights, the silly ones, they don´t shine nor burn to touch, but others light up the life with such will power that you cannot watch them without blinking and whoever goes near picks up their fire."

Eduardo Galeano
Yet I had already heard that story when my brother once told me his dream.
