A QUESTION TO ENJOY

"Have patience, /.../. Try to love the questions themselves
as if they were locked rooms or books written in a foreign language.
Don't search for the answers which could not be given to you now,
because you would not be able to live them.
And the point is to live everything. Live the questions now.
Perhaps then /.../, you will gradually, without even noticing it,
live your way into the answer."

Rainer Maria Rilke

Argentina is waiting for autumn - the birds are gradually leaving north, the weather has become milder. It rains quite often, and at least once a week we have a storm. Next Monday I am travelling to Uruguay to renew my stay for another three months. I've been asked if that's it...

Indeed, it has been a long break from the road, but I do not feel that the journey is over. Not at all. Rather I would like to believe that from one place to another the traveller is being lead through certain doors which become open at a special time.

There is no waiting - on the contrary, taken that each moment is singular and cannot be returned to, the journey continues, even if geographically one is standing still. But before it is possible to leave the room, the assignment needs to be finished. And there is no way to know beforehand when it happens.

So will it be long before I am offered another cup to quench my thirst for the road and the horizon? - I ask, but do not try to answer.
