While I was alone in Chascomus, Tiiu went to Europe and visited Estonia. When Tiiu came back she brought home a warm summer breeze that blows in the northern hemisphere which made our winter feel like spring.
She also brought me kind words about my family, illustrated with images from her camera. She had seen both my parents, my brother, his girlfriend, her parents and had even visited the country house and walked on the beach where I had spent my childhood summers.
Her suitcase was full of treasures: there were many good-old sweets from "Kalev" that have changed their package, but taste the same. I closed my eyes when I ate - that is how good they tasted!
There were Estonian books, music and movies to fill an entire shelf and many many days with quality time watching, listening or reading.
She brought us several loaves of traditional rye-flour bread, canned sprats, kippered herring and strawberry marmelade. I almost forgot we were on the other side of the planet when we had breakfast.
She also brought me letters from home and many travelogues. I couldn´t believe everything had Estonian language on it - there was one Estonian magazine "Pere ja kodu", all the foods had Estonian names. Tiiu said she had the same sensation when there - it is such a little people, no-one knows they exist. But now we have proof!
