BREATHE

It´s been 539 days,
which is exactly 1 year, 5 monts and 23 days,
or just about 77 weeks, since I came to Navarino Island.

This is officially the longest I have ever stayed put anywhere.
Even my family came to visit  last month.
"Might be our only chance", Mother said.
"Next time live in a warmer place, please", asked Helerin.
Brother stayed longer. I was very glad.
Took a vacation to make their 13 flights worth a while
and make up for the time we´ve been and still will be apart.

So now I get to know a working-man´s world.
It is not difficult. Just have to breathe and follow the schedule.

Monday to Friday

00:00-7:00 inhale. sleep.
8:00-13:00 exhale. work.
13.00-14.00 inhale. lunch.
14.30-17.00 exhale. work.
17.00-18.00 exhale (continuous) prepare for class.
18.30 -20.15 inhale. study.
20.15 -21.00 inhale (continuous) coffee break.
21.00-22.30. exhale. teach.
23.00-23.30. inhale. cup of tea at home.
23.30-00.00. exhale. prepare for the next class.

Saturday and Sunday
Inhale the unknown trails. Exhale the tiredness having made it home.
Inhale the cold water during a swim in the river rapids. Exhale a scream as it burns the skin.
Inhale the moonlit forest walking down the mountain path. Exhale a sigh of gratitude having found the way in the dark.
Inhale a hike through the swamp to a distant beach. It is low tide. The path to the island is open - go! Inhale and exhale rapidly running back - the boat is about to leave Puerto Toro.
Inhale that bicycle ride and the company of friends, a good movie and quiet music. Exhale a sigh - the weekend is over.
