ONE HOUR
Since two months, from Monday to
Friday, I´ve been left with just one conscious hour for the Self. And that hour is Sacred. It
is The Lunch Break - every day striving to reach its maximum content. So far so good. Although the one today would be hard to beat:
13:00 on the bike.
The Temuco store has the missing onion I need for my meal.
13:04 chop the
onion and the greens, prepare the thermo with tea, the potato mash. It´s
instant, yet not bad tasting, adding butter and milk, makes all the
difference.
13.17.Wash dishes.
13:20. Pack: the
cup, the thermo, the spoon, Antoanela´s left-over birthday cake, the mash
with greens, a towel to sit on.
13.25 I´m on the
bike pedalling towards the woods.
13:35 I´m already
down the wooden stairway, in the forest, by the riverside taking the things
out.
13.37 I´m in the
river, taking a swim.
13.40 I´m not
putting on the stockings, sitting barefoot on the bank, toes playing with
fallen leaves on the forest floor, eating my meal.
13.55. I´m on my
way up the stairs, down the hill, back home.
13:59 Unpack.
14:00 I´m on the
bike going to the office.
"How come the
lunch hour is always so short?", says Claudia.
I smile. Not at
all!
